Is the saying chatty cathy an old saying?

It isn't an old saying. It is a reference to any female who is talkative to the point of being annoying. I had the doll when I was a girl in the 1960's. She would make noise all day long if you weren't careful. The term "chatty cathy" has just become a descriptive term for girls who say a lot without really saying anything.
